Writing Coaching & Tutoring

Writing Tutoring for Youth

A former high school English teacher and Composition teacher at the college level, I have been working with students in grades 8 through college as a writing tutor since 2007.

My approach is to support students developing confidence as writers.

• For those working on assignments, I assist with planning for writing, writing, and editing and proofreading.
• For creative writers, we discuss craft and generate new ideas, and I provide coaching on revision. I tutor students in all genres, including fiction, investigative journalism, essays & creative non-fiction, and poetry.
• For reluctant writers, I engage students in fun word-related “Writing Brain” activities to keep writing muscles active and help kids see themselves as writers.
• For all students, I infuse concepts related to grammar, punctuation, sentence structure as well as structure, tone and flow into all of my tutoring.

Writing Coaching for Adults

For those who know their material but lack confidence in written expression, I can help you become more comfortable creating and refining your message.

For professional writers and creatives, I offer constructive and collaborative coaching that will help you up your game and meet your writing goals.

Writing Coaching is available for:

• content experts like practitioners, therapists and healers
• those with a vision but little or no training in writing
• writers who seek one-on-one, targeted collaboration

Long-Term Writing Coaching & Developmental Editing

I am available to work with a limited number of clients who are working on a long-term project, like a book or series of essays, or with clients who are working on long-range goals.
